"The views of Central Park are breathtaking" from the higher floors of this "fancy schmancy hotel" near Carnegie Hall, which is why the rooftop pool is "the pièce de résistance"; rooms are "stylish" (if "not stunning") and "larger than most" in the city ("spacious" suites have "a huge work desk"), and "the power-breakfast set" loves the eggs at Norma's and the lobby's "hidden" Burger Joint that's "worth the frenzied jockeying for seats" ("you can always work meals off in the on-site four-star gym").

Too few elevators for top floors, good luck trying to leave at 8 am. Nice hotel, but no shampoo in shower and phone did not work.

Walking distance to Lincoln Center, Central Park, 5th Ave., and Time Square.
Standard room is too small and the city view below 30th floor has building in front. Closet has cheap drapery door, I don't know why.
I had to upgrade to a junior suite as the standard room that I got was too small with stuffy view of the ugly apartment building in front. Their closet had drapery door to cover, which I don't even expect at motel level. Staffs were pretty nice. Location was very convenient to experience best of NY. Their hamburger place was great. (highly recommend). Norma restaurant provides good breakfast, but ridiculously over priced. If waiter tries to pour you a orange juice as you sit, you should know that it's $9 and a cup of coffee is $7. Starbucks is located just across the street for $2/cup. ...read more

Treated like a 2nd class hotel guest. Room not available on time.
Hotel's nice and in great location. However, it seemed overbooked. We got there and we did not have a room until 6pm. Even then we were supposed to have 2 rooms. Roll away bed took 4 requests got there at 8.30. Got the response it's busy. Just not good enough. ...read more

It was very clean! The room was very large, much larger than I expected for NYC.
The air could not be adjusted in the room, the staff had to be called and it was a hassle.
Great stay! Very elegant, especially during the holidays. The staff was great and I felt very safe. Big room, very clean, and not much noise.
